Biodiversity

Biodiversity, a term combining 'biological' and 'diversity' refers to the variety of life on earth (plants, animals, fungi and micro-organisms) as well as to the communities that they form and the habitats in which they live. The current loss of biodiversity at rates significantly exceeding those in the fossil record is a source of concern to many people, conservation organisations and countries.

Together with their partners PBL has developed the GLOBIO3 model to assess the state of biodiversity on a global and regional scale. PBL contibutes significantly to the GLOBIO3 website.
