Exploring past and future changes in the ecological footprint for world regions. The Ecological Footprint (EF) has received considerable attention as a useful indicator in the context of sustainable development. So far it has mostly been applied as a static indicator. Here, we have derived a set of long-term EF scenarios for 17 world regions using the implementation of Integrated Assessment Model, IMAGE 2.2 of IPCC’s SRES scenarios.
