RSS news feeds

The website of the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency supports users of the RSS Reader by supplying a RSS feed. An RSS Reader collects the headings and introductions of your favourite websites on a daily basis, and aranges these in convenient categories displayed on one page. This saves you the trouble of having to surf regularly through your favourite websites. The RSS Reader does the daily search for you.

What is RSS?

RSS is ideal for Internet users who visit their favourite sites regularly to see if any new items have been added. A so-called RSS Reader, a software program that collects the headings and introductions to your favourite websites, presenting them in conveniently arranged categories, can do this work for you. The RSS Reader has announced the addition of a new message and a short résumé of the contents of the message. You can click on the title to see this message, which will take you to the website concerned.

How does the RSS work?

Your RSS Reader does not give you automatic access to every website. The website has to support the RSS by offering it so-called news feeds. The PBL website offers such a feed for environmental news. Copy the url, http://www.pbl.nl/en/service/rss/pbl-rss.xml, in your RSS Reader and it will inform you on the PBL news.

Where can I find RSS Readers?

There are many RSS Readers on the Internet so for your convenience, the PBL.nl web editors of  have selected a number of (free) programs.

How often is the information refreshed?

As often as you wish, by self-installing the 'refresh' button in your RSS Reader.
