Consumption Data

Introduction

This section presents some historical estimates for energy consumption. Although data for historical energy consumption and electricity use are rather scarse, an attempt has been made to calculate total energy consumption for the 1800 - 1995 period. Please note that the historical data ranges (pre 1970) are rather uncertain and must be treated with care.
