EU Member State participation in selected international cooperative initiatives in the Non-state Actor Zone for Climate Action (NAZCA)

Infographic | 27-07-2016

The degree of involvement of EU Member States in 14 selected initiatives on the Non-state Actor Zone for Climate Action portal (NAZCA) varies. Compared to governments from the rest of the world, those from the EU are well-represented, either as individual Member States or via the involvement of the European Commission. EU participation is strongest by north-western countries and Italy. As the map shows, around half of all EU Member States participate in one or more of the selected initiatives. They are absent from three initiatives in which national governments from outside the EU are involved: en.lighten (EU companies do participate), Global Energy Efficiency Accelerator Platform (44 countries) and United for Efficiency (11 countries).
