Department of Integrated Environmental Policy Analysis

The Department of Integrated Environmental Policy Analysis focuses on policy analysis and evaluation in PBL's four strategic themes: climate change and energy transition, circular economy, food, agriculture and nature in transformation, city and region in development.

A wide range of quantitative and qualitative methods are developed and applied in the department, including participatory evaluation, economic modeling, scenario development and social cost-benefit analysis (SCBA).

The integrated approach brings together environment, economy and society, as well as explorations around broad prosperity and sustainable development goals. In order to guarantee the reliability of its analyses, PBL continuously works on the quality of the data, models and methods used. The IBL department contributes to this with expertise in data science, computational modeling and visualization.
